Day 20

Day 20 of #Recovery: #UnHappyHolidays… these days haven’t been too happy. This is the first holiday season that I’ll spend without #MyFather. I know he’s sad about what’s happening down here. #TheUnitedStatesOfAmerica have been showing us their true colors lately. The lack of #justice being displayed has been a continuous thought since the murder trial of #MikeBrown. It’s like that started a chain reaction of televised “throw it in our face” #injustice. I told myself that I wasn’t going to keep doing pieces about this topic; however, I also said that this series would be daily installments of whatever is on my mind. My thought’s about cops in America is what it always has been, just a little more extreme now. If cops are going to continue to harass, beat, shoot, and kill us for no reason, then we might as well #ShootBack, it’s a “better safe than sorry” situation now. This is our lives, and just because you wear a badge, doesn’t make your life more important than ours. And even more important, it doesn’t give you authorization to take ours. Now most law abiding citizens can’t even #ChristmasShop without having to wonder if they’ll be stopped by an officer to ask, “what’s in the bag?” And before they even get the opportunity to show that it’s a train track for their child, #BANG… they’re shot and killed. #StopKillingUs #BlackLivesMatter #iCantBreathe
